The Welfaux Guide to Forklift Training
With Autumn almost here, it’s important to make sure your forklift operators are fully prepared for the runup to the Black Friday and Christmas periods. Naturally, this begins with making sure they have the correct training to keep your warehouse running safely and efficiently. This is why Welfaux provides expert-led training courses to help your drivers.
Why Do You Need Forklift Training?
Forklift operations are no small feat–from handling large and heavy loads to navigating narrow aisles, it’s important that any driver has the appropriate understanding to do it all safely and efficiently.
Whilst this makes
forklift training one of your first lines of defence against accidents, they are unfortunately impossible to rule out completely (hence the name). However, in the unlikely event that one occurs–touch wood–a driver who is well-trained will be better equipped to handle the situation than one who isn’t.
This is why, despite forklift training not technically being a legal requirement for drivers, organisations require that forklift training is carried out in order to maintain a safe and smoothly running warehouse. It’s also worth noting that forklift training is required for any driver looking to change jobs, as it shows future employers that they’re competent in forklift operations–you can find out more about this
here.
Who Carries Out the Training?
At Welfaux, we have only the best trainers available to help your drivers succeed. All of our educators are registered instructors with extensive experience in a wide range of forklift applications.
Our instructors will be there to guide delegates throughout the duration of their course, (lasting between 1 & 5 days, depending on the course–but more on that later) and will be responsible for carrying out the practical training.
In doing so, our instructors will provide all the relevant information needed for delegates to pass a written exam at the end of each course, securing their certifications and giving them the confidence they need to carry out productive and safe forklift operations. Certificates will be issued after the
training has been completed.

What Training is Available?
We provide 3 different courses, depending on the delegate’s current skill level. These are:
- Novice – This is for delegates who have had no previous or existing training on a forklift of any type. This course can take up to 5 days to complete (delegate amount depending).
- Conversion – This is for delegates who have experience on a forklift, but require an extra/ different style of training for another type of forklift. For example, they have experience on a Flexi but need training on a Reach Truck. This course can take up to 3 days (delegate amount depending).
- Refresher – This is for delegates whose licence has expired, or any delegates that have not operated a forklift for a long period of time and need a refresher or re-test. This course is a 1 day course and is available for up to 3 delegates.
How Much Does Forklift Training Cost?
Like any high-quality certification, the training courses provided at Welfaux are a worthwhile investment for your warehouse. Not only are they quick and convenient, but the courses secure your warehouse into the safe hands of confident, professionally trained forklift operators.
As previously discussed, it’s also the safest thing you can do for your forklift operations by significantly limiting the risk of accidents, and providing your drivers with the tools to act in the event of such instances.
With all this in mind, Welfaux’s training courses are incredibly good value and highly cost-effective for ensuring the safety and competency of your forklift operations.
