The Best Practices While Operating A Forklift
Forklift trucks have become critical equipment in a variety of businesses that require warehousing and storage. Although forklift trucks make transporting material goods easier, it is essential that they only be used by qualified professionals to avoid accidents and material damage. So here are some safety measures that must be taken when using a forklift.
Do not overload the forklift truck above its rated capacity
Each forklift is given a load rating. This is frequently written on a metal plate that is fastened to the bonnet/dashboard. Its purpose is to make sure the forklift's capacity is always known to the driver. A forklift can and will tilt forward when lifting loads that are more than its weight rating. Therefore, the vehicle should not be overloaded above its rated capacity.
Train your operators regularly
It is important to provide your operators with frequent safety training. It ensures they are aware of any new changes in forklift safety and that the regulations and guidelines remain fresh in their minds.
Do not approach the forks or stand beneath the lifted load
Standing near an operating forklift or reach truck is extremely dangerous. Even a minor lifted load might be fatal. If a weight falls, the loads are at least in the range of 1 Ton (1000 kg), and can instantly break and divide into several parts.

Allow zero offsets or tilting of the load stack
To avoid the forklift tipping over, the weight must always be raised evenly with caution and never offset or skewed. The load stack should be securely fastened prior to forklift use. It is always advised to review the forklift operating manual for the appropriate loading procedures.
